After WWII Korea was divided up between the United States and the Soviet Union. It was split along the 28th parallel because Russia was trying to take over Korea. The Soviet Union supported Communist control of North Korea and the United States supported democracy/capitalism in South Korea. On June 25th, 1950 North Korean forces came across the 28th parallel creating a surprise attack on South Korea.
During this war the Soviet Union supported the North Koreans by giving then technological and strategic support. The Soviet Unon also provided supplies and other aid for the North Koreans. Some Soviet citizens even served as volunteers in the North Korean military. The United States aided South Korean by destroying the bridge that China was sending reinforcments to North Korea. They also send reinforcements to the port of Incheon. The US, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand and India also helped South Korea through the United States.
By September 1950, North Koreans pushed South Koreans south to the perimeter of Pusan. United Nations go into Korea to help protect them they pushed them into Pyongyang and Yalu river. China was threateend by the United States being so close to the border so they sent troops into North korea to help them. At this time China sent 300,000 troops into North Korea.
Gojoseon period, three kingdoms period, North south states period were three major battles of the Korean Conlflict. North south states period is the period in korean history when silla and balhe coexisted in the south and north of the penisuala The Three Kingdoms period is when Korean history was divided into the kingdoms of Silla, Koguryó, and Paekche. Gojoseon was an ancient Korean kingdom. Gojoseon was located in Liaoning and was the oldest Kingdom in Korea.
On 16, July, two separate groups of 24 piston fighters and 20IL-10 piston ground-attack aircraft were scheduled for flights southward into Kungchuling. Today, North Korea is a communist state and a dictatorship and South Korea is a democratic republic.
