Mao Zedong was the lead of the Communist movement in China. This movement began in China in 1921. Mao Zedong took control in 1927. The Communist were fighting against the nationalist and their leader was Jiang Jieshi. Mao Zedong and the communistic people went on a 6,000 mile march into the hills of northern China to escape the nationalist. This is known as the Long March.
There was three main events that occurred between 1946 and 1949 during the Communist Revolution in China. The first main event happened December 25, 1947. At this time Mao Zedong put forward the famous 10 principals of military operations. On June 26 1949 the Kuotintang army launched an attack. In May 1949, the Communists established the People's Republic of China. During this time a series of massive wars took place in western China.
In 1958 the Great Leap Forward occured. This plan was for 2 large collective farms or communes. Today China is a republican led by a communist party.
